Homework:
Assignment 1 – Storify – Social media curation assignment.
Blog 1-2 – Write two posts related to your beat. Posts can be curated or originally reported. Create two pieces of content (one per post) under one minute using social media tools/platforms beyond Facebook and Twitter to supplement your post. A few examples of tools you can use include: Tout, Cinchcast, Storyful, BlipTv, AudioBoo, etc. (If you have a question about a site/tool, just ask.) Embed or include a link to the additional element in your blog.
Blog 3 – Discuss your news tracking site’s use of social media. How strong/visible is social media presence? How does the site use social to promote its content? Does the site engage with users? How active are writers and/or editors on social media? Does social media play a role in the content?
